Picky Eating & Feeding Issues
Expand your child's food variety and enjoyment
Service Description
Does any of this sound familiar? "My child will only eat chicken nuggets, French fries, Goldfish crackers, and Macaroni and Cheese from the purple box." "Dinner time is stressful. If I offer my child a new food they will melt down. I find myself making separate meals, and it's tiring." If so, your child may be a picky eater or an extreme picky eater (sometimes called selective eating). While this can be frustrating and emotionally draining, there is hope! I treat a range of feeding issues, from typical picky eating to sensory food sensitivities. The primary goal of feeding therapy is to support healthy growth and development by expanding the child's dietary intake and variety in a positive, non-stressful way: I use well-recognized and evidence-based feeding therapy approaches that include the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) Approach to Feeding and Food Chaining. Both of these approaches are sensory-based and are often appropriate for children with ADHD and autism. When applicable, I am happy to work with a child's therapeutic team to address their individualized treatment plan and help ensure their success. Get in touch to learn more!
