What We Specialize In....

  • Is there paperwork to fill out?
All registered patients easily complete all of their paperwork, intake forms, and assessments digitally using Healthie, an easy-to-use web and mobile platform that allows you to connect with me and track your care while we work together. All of your information is secure and private, as Healthie is HIPAA-compliant.
  • What costs can I expect?
The out-of-pocket-fee will be $125.00 for your first appointment and $60.00 for any follow-up appointments. To make my nutrition services more accessible, I accept HSA and FSA payments and offer discounted bundle-and-save packages when you know that you'll need more than one follow-up session to reach your goals. You can view fees for individual appointments and packages by clicking here. For our convenience, you can download the Welcome Letter on my website under the About section that summarizes this information.
  • Are you in-network with any insurance plans?
We are not in-network with any insurance companies and am not able to bill the insurance company for your visit. You are welcome to contact your healthcare insurance provider directly to find out if they offer any out-of-network benefits for seeing a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. Sometimes they ask for a CPT Code. The one I usually use for Medical Nutrition Therapy is 97802 or 97803. If your plan offers out-of-network benefits, then upon request after your appointment we can provide you with a bill (called a Superbill) with appropriate medical coding in hopes that your insurance may reimburse you for nutrition services. For our convenience, you can download the Welcome Letter on my website under the About section that summarizes this information.
  • What is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist?
Registered Dietitian Nutritionists are food and nutrition experts who help people meet their nutrition, health, and wellness goals by counseling patients in nutrition and administering medical nutrition therapy as part of a health care team They have met the following criteria to earn the RDN credential: Completed a minimum of a bachelor's degree at a US regionally accredited university or college and course work accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Completed an ACEND®-accredited supervised practice program at a health-care facility, community agency, or a foodservice corporation or combined with undergraduate or graduate studies. Typically, a practice program will run six to 12 months in length. Passed a national examination administered by CDR. For more information regarding the examination, refer to CDR's website. Completed continuing professional educational requirements to maintain registration. Some RDs hold additional certifications in specialized areas of practice. In addition to RDN credentialing, many states have regulatory laws for dietitians and nutrition practitioners. Frequently these state requirements are met through the same education and training required to become an RDN. Source: eatrightpro.org
  • How long should I expect to work with you?
This varies depending on the patient and their needs. Nutrition is a journey and it is important to have long-term accountability and support in order to meet and sustain goals. For example, for Eating Disorder Recovery and Intuitive Eating, it is common for patients to have weekly follow-up appointments with their dietitian weekly for the first 8-12 weeks, and then re-evaluate from there. For Feeding Therapy, it is common for patients to have weekly or bi-monthly follow-up appointments for the first 6-8 weeks, and then re-evaluate from there. For most other patients, after the initial consultation, many prefer to schedule at least one follow-up appointment, and many choose to have more. Some people find the Comprehensive Nutrition Assessment is enough for them. You will never be pressured into booking more sessions, but gentle recommendations will be provided.

Testimonials

Success Stories

"I came to From the Start Nutrition after being told my daughter had high triglycerides and on the high average side of total cholesterol. She had poor eating habits and an imbalanced diet! After meeting with Beth a few times, we came to the understanding that some carbohydrates (even sweets!) are okay as long as you are incorporating it with other food groups to make it a balanced meal or snack. My daughter enjoyed the interactive sessions and learned so much about the food pyramid. Beth was very personable, easy to talk to and spoke to my daughter in ways that she understood. She kept the virtual sessions very engaging for my daughter."
